Around 10% of European GDP is produced by the construction sector. Its economic importance gains momentum in the context of the international crisis, thanks to the capacity of the sector to create jobs and generate wealth. However, in line with Europe 2020 Strategy, such contributions must be made in consideration with environmental and sustainability criteria. To assist in the implementation of the Construction 2020 Action Plan, Ecorys is providing technical and secretariat support to the groups working around the themes of investment stimulation for renovation, infrastructure and innovation; skills & education, sustainable use of natural resources; internal market for construction products and services, and international competitiveness. Likewise, Ecorys assisted in the design and execution of the High Level Forum, organized annually by the European Commission. Additionally, we took care of the communication and stakeholder engagement, for which we designed (in)direct, strategic and selected involvement as well as different communication and implementation actions.
