Ecorys has been part of the organisation of the FEANTSA Ending Homelessness Awards 2018. The event, organised by Ecorys on behalf of the European Commission, took place in Brussels on the evening of 6 November, following the 13 FEAD Network Meeting.
Established in 1989, FEANTSA is the European Federation of National Organisations working on homelessness and it is the only European NGO focusing exclusively on the fight against homelessness in Europe.
This year's FEANTSA Awards recognised innovative projects funded by the Fund for the European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD). The Award ceremony was an opportunity to highlight how the FEAD has been used to fight homelessness across Europe and to provide inspiration for other worthy projects seeking financial assistance from this fund.
Gold Award was given out to Frostschutzangel Plus, a project jointly managed by GEBEWO and Caritas, that provides counselling in several languages in existing homelessness services, as day centres and night shelters. Kirkens Korshaer Kompasset, based in Copenhagen, received the silver prize for providing outreach services for hard-to-reach EU mobile citizens struggling to acces low-threshold services. The bronze prize recognised the project Better Health, developed in cooperation between the cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg adn Malmo, that provides medical help and advice to vulnerable EU migrants, especially women.
